For the Sathya Sai Baba Center of Dallas, Texas, one of the major projects during Christmas is the Visiting Nurses Association, or VNA, docks service. The members of the Dallas Sai Center have performed this service for the past 28 years, and it gives them great joy to celebrate Christmas in this Holy manner.  The activities involve packing the coolers with Hot and Cold meals and arranging the gifts to be delivered along with the meals. Center members arrive at the VNA docs at 5:00 am to organize and stack all the coolers with meals as they are being prepared by VNA staff in the kitchen. These coolers and gift bags are then loaded onto the vehicles of the VNA volunteer drivers who deliver these meals and gifts across the Dallas Metroplex to home bound seniors.  This year 4,500 meals were delivered by the VNA. The camaraderie amongst the devotees working the docks and the joyous looks in the drivers’ eyes make it a memorable occasion. When it is all over there are many with tired limbs but gladdened hearts giving thanks to the Lord for having given them a chance to serve in His Holy name and spread the holiday cheer. Click here to see TV coverage of the service
