Love is the Way: Lake Washington, WA
On June 21, 2025, the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Lake Washington celebrated the end of their Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) year with an exhibition themed Love is the Way. The event began with a unique, moving procession of Vedic chants and Nagar Sankeertan (street singing) that spiritually transported many adults to Prasanthi Nilayam.
The SSE children showcased their year-long learning through various creative presentations:
Group 1 & 2 (12 years and younger) shared lessons through interactive activities, including a Value Puzzle and a board game based on the Journey of Life, illustrating how value-based choices enrich success. Their joy was highly infectious.
Group 3 students (aged 12- 15 years) demonstrated maturity by focusing on concepts like equanimity, tranquility, and discernment. Using examples from the Ramayana and real life, they showed how head, heart, and hands harmonize when guided by love.
Group 4 (aged 15 years and older) left an indelible impression by their presentation that explored Creating Your Own Religion. After studying various world faiths for a year, they created their own religion (Equilism, Clear Path, Solaria), concluding with the profound truth that all religions ultimately teach the path of love and unity. The group itself represented a rich tapestry of faiths, including Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, and Christianity, and communicated the message of unity with clarity and authenticity.
A highlight was the debut of the Lake Washington Sai Center Orchestra, formed by oldest students. With humility, teamwork, and devotion, they learned to play instruments together for devotional singing (bhajans) as a humble offering to the Lord, setting a wonderful example for the younger students.
The three-hour celebration, attended by nearly 180 people, left hearts full. Parents expressed immense gratitude—for the opportunity to expose their children to SSE, for the dedication of teachers, and for the chance to witness how Sai Spiritual Education is shaping young lives. Many reflected with longing, “I wish I had the opportunity to learn Swami’s teachings at a younger age.”
This Annual Day was more than an event; it was a living testimony to the transformative power of SSE—reminding all that indeed, Love is the Way.
