In Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, 2000, Swami explains, “What is education? People say, it is the acquisition of knowledge. But it is not merely acquisition of knowledge; it must be in action. What is the end of education? Character is the end of education. What is the essence of education? Concentration is the essence of education. What is the aim of education? The aim of education is not only cultivating human qualities, but attaining divinity. Education is meant for life, not for a living”.
Sathya Sai Education in Human Values is a human values-based program of character development designed to develop and nurture one’s holistic potential and innate human goodness. The institute of Sathya Sai Education www.isseusa.org is designed to exemplify and promote a process of education that integrates universal human values across the learning experiences of children and adults. The members of SSSIO-USA are engaged in educating non-members in these principles of Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non-violence.
