Sri Sathya Sai International Organization - USA

The SSIO-USA Southwest Region launched a face mask project in April with about 30 volunteers, ranging from SSE children to seniors in retirement homes, putting their selfless love into action. They created more than 2,000 masks within 2 months and distributed them to those most in need.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the USA, several volunteers from the Sathya Sai Centers in the Greater Seattle area sprang into action to make face masks, working together to ensure the smooth execution of the project from material preparation to mask distribution.

Through learning about the backstories of the homeless people that they serve, volunteers of the Sathya Sai Center of Chatsworth, CA have ​begun to deeply empathize with many of the food recipients, whom they now know are decent people who simply had an unexpected turn in their lives or a stroke of bad luck.

Volunteers from the Sathya Sai Center of Central San Jose have initiated a weekly math and coding class tutoring project for elementary school children in a low-income neighborhood. To create an enjoyable learning environment, they use a fun computerized program. 

The Sathya Sai Center of Milwaukee, WI has adopted a mile of Highway 18 which they are responsible for cleaning up three times a year.
