Confetti to being Considerate- Nature Preserve Cleanup, Chicago, IL
In observance of a nationwide Sai and Sustainability Day on April 9, 2022, volunteers from Sri Sathya Sai Centers of Chicagoland helped clean Busse Forest Preserve in Elk Grove Village, IL. Volunteers reflected on the lasting negative impact of confetti on the environment, and vowed against their use during any celebration.
National Refugee Support Spotlight 2022 Summary
A National Refugee Support Spotlight was held virtually on March 5, 2022, for SSSIO members interested in providing refugee support services. A video summary of the key segments of the spotlight is presented- a moving talk by a former refugee from Iraq, a presentation on an inspiring project involving Afghani refugees, an informative session on phases of refugee resettlement and future plans of the SSSIO. The spotlight ended with moderated breakout sessions.
