Hurricane Ian Disaster Relief, Holiday Giveaway

Through a nationally coordinated effort, Sai communities across the US donated disaster relief supplies to help survivors of Hurricane Ian. SSSIO members in Florida received and delivered the items to local partners such as churches. SSSIO members also donated toys along with relief supplies for two Christmas holiday giveaways, including a huge drive-through giveaway where Sai volunteers spent hours distributing boxes of supplies, groceries and toys.

Christmas Celebration at Arden Wood Nursing Home, South Houston, TX

Members of the Sri Sathya Sai Center of South Houston had been serving the elderly residents of the Arden Wood Nursing Home for more than two decades until Covid-19 hit. In December 2022, 15 Sai volunteers resumed their visit to the home by bringing Christmas cheer to the residents. SSE children entertained them with Christmas carols. Sai volunteers also distributed gifts and served ice cream.

South-Central Regional Retreat, Bruceville, TX

After a 3-year hiatus, SSSIO members of the South-Central Region came together on Labor Day weekend for a retreat at the URJ Greene Family Camp in Bruceville, Texas. About 350 attendees enjoyed the two-and-a-half-day retreat filled with speaker sessions, workshops, music programs, SSE programs, service activities, and fun and games. Attendees felt rejuvenated by the uplifting programs and the joy of being in spiritual company.

Region 8, Pacific South Region Service Projects

SSSIO members of the Pacific South Region have been serving the homeless with dedication for several years. The video highlights how the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Torrance was able to continue providing for the homeless even through the challenges of the pandemic by collaborating with other like-minded organizations similarly committed to taking care of the homeless.
