Sri Sathya Sai International Organization - USA

The SSSIO Mid-Atlantic Region collaborated with the Words of Life Christian Center to hold a free health fair/medical camp for residents of the Bronx. Volunteer doctors and residents in training served about 130 mostly Spanish-speaking individuals with limited access to healthcare. Services provided included check-up for diabetes and hypertension, vision care and cancer screening.

For more than 3 decades, Sai volunteers from the greater St. Louis area in Missouri have been serving dinner once a month to the residents of the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church night shelter. Volunteers reflect movingly on the impact the experience has had on them.

A Sai devotee shares her spiritual journey - how serving in the Love for Lunch Service Project for 22 years expanded her heart. She started the journey because she loved her friend and wanted to help; then she loved the people she delivered meals to, then loved the service itself. Finally, she loved creating a cookbook of their recipes that was blessed by Sri Sathya Sai Baba on Guru Poornima Day, 1994.
