Sorting and Packing Surplus Medical Supplies, Pittsburgh, PA
For more than a decade, the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Pittsburgh, PA, has volunteered monthly at Global Links, a nonprofit founded in 1989 that distributes surplus medical supplies to under-resourced communities. Sai volunteers sort and pack surplus medical supplies for overseas shipment and assemble personal care kits for local needs. They find contributing to Global Links' mission of improving health globally and locally, immensely rewarding. Global Links staff are grateful for the Sai Center's constant dedication and valuable partnership.
Friends of Trees, Beaverton, OR
Members of the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Beaverton, OR, partnered with Friends of Trees on February 22, 2025, to plant 30 trees to counter deforestation and combat climate change. The tree planting activity also aligned with the SSSIO's (Sri Sathya Sai International Organization) global One Million Sai Trees initiative. Sai Center members expressed their joy in feeling a deeper connection with Nature and reflected on environmental stewardship as a path to realizing Divinity within Creation.
Ramadan Iftar Dinner, Dallas, TX
In the spirit of interfaith harmony, the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Dallas, TX hosted a Ramadan-Iftar dinner on March 15, 2025, at the Community Unitarian Universalist Church in Plano, TX. About 100 people attended, including 40 guests from the Dialogue Institute of Dallas, The Mayor and the Police Lieutenant of Plano also graced the occasion. The program included an open house featuring the Dallas Sai Center service activities, presentations on the teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the significance of Ramadan, and a musical offering by the young adults. The event ended with the Iftar dinner lovingly served by Sai volunteers.
Celebrating Elders at Seniors and Grandparents Day, Central San Jose, CA
The Sri Sathya Sai Sai Baba Center of Central San Jose, CA, hosted a heartwarming Seniors and Grandparents Day event. The celebration honored elders’ wisdom and their contributions, through a program of devotional singing, games, shared stories, and a lovingly prepared lunch. Elders offered valuable life insights, and young adults expressed their gratitude with personalized tokens. A volunteer reflected on the importance of pausing to connect and reflect amid busy Sai activities. The event fostered meaningful inter-generational bonds, spiritual growth, and unity — highlighting the shared journey of self-transformation and love for Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
