The Sri Sathya Sai International Organization’s 11th World Conference, held in Riverside, CA, November 20-24, 2025, was the highlight of the global Centennial Festival celebrating the 100th birthday of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Uniting over 1,300 delegates from 46 nations, the conference, at Sai Prema Nilayam, began with a special Ladies Day program on November 19, and included a grand Centennial Birthday celebration on November 23. The conference concluded on November 24, with the sharing of deeply moving personal experiences by several devotees close to Swami.

To fulfill the conference theme of “Purity is Enlightenment,” the spiritual program emphasized that purification of the mind and heart is the sole path to realizing one's innate divinity. Speakers, panels, and workshops discussed purity at all levels: Individual Purity, Purity in the Family, and Purity in Society, with devotional singing and delicious vegetarian meals rounding out each day.

A global team of officers and volunteers worked intensively together for months to plan the event, with Southern California having the unique privilege of serving as hosts. Festooned with lights and adorned with flowers, Sai Prema Nilayam was overflowing with joy, gratitude, and love. The program opened with the Ladies' Day celebrations featuring many inspiring women speakers who touched the audience with their personal experiences and thoughtful sharing. Shruthi Vijayakumar, the deputy international young adults coordinator, generated much soul-searching with her heartfelt talk on how one can surrender to the Lord's feet.

The days started with devotional singing at 6:00 am and ended at 9:00 pm, with many leaving in bliss after having Swami’s Divine Darshan onstage. Speakers included SSSIO Chairman Dr. Narendranath Reddy; Mr. Leonardo Gutter, chairman of the Sri Sathya Sai World Foundation; and Aravind Balasubramanya, Swami’s personal photographer for five years, who flew all the way from Bangalore, India.

Each day was filled with inspiring Divine Discourses voiced by Swami, along with thought-provoking discussion sessions, debates, games and workshops on purification at all levels - individual, family and society. The audience was treated to uplifting musical performances by the Sarva Dharma choir; a mandolin concert by Sri U. Rajesh; a captivating carnatic performance by violinist Ms. Anuradha Sridhar; and a touching musical offering by Estonian soprano Evelyn Kanepi. Highlighting the multi-faith message of Swami, the program featured an interfaith panel of religious leaders from Southern California. Finally, the SSE children took to the stage to showcase their dramatic talents in the play, “Marching in the Light of God.”

At the conference’s end, the audience was treated to powerful first-hand insights from Brother Satyajit Salian from his years of close association with Swami, serving as His personal attendant for over a decade and presenting a compelling reminder of the Eternal Sai.

For many, the conclusion of the conference was a time to reflect on the conference’s theme and what changes they may need to make to achieve the supreme goal of human life.

For Edith Billups, Mid-Atlantic media coordinator, “These blessed six days made me really question how committed I am to realizing my own innate divinity and the innate divinity in all of creation. So often, I have doubts, but by exploring Swami’s teachings through panel discussions, workshops, and Swami’s Divine Discourses in His own voice, I am more inspired and motivated to do the work that is needed. I left with my heart overflowing with gratitude to Swami for His grace that allowed me to be a part of this truly historic moment. All who attended, whether in-person or online, were incredibly blessed.”

Shalaine Malone, a long-time devotee from Florida, stated, “One conference takeaway for me was from a workshop where I had to reframe a situation and put myself in another person’s place. These kinds of things help us in real life. The workshop also pointed out that in order to reach liberation or merge with God, you have to have purity of the heart. It reminded me of things that I was already working on, so I felt that I was on the right track.”

For Anu Bakshi, a Young Adult from the District of Columbia, “I felt Baba was with me in every moment of the conference, doing all the little things He does to inspire, cleanse, and remind me that I am always in His Hands. The music, talks, and performances were divine, though it was the devotees that moved me the most. Devotees traveled from near and far to offer songs, flowers, food, and to do all the unseen things behind the scenes to ensure everything was in place - and they did it with pure love and kindness. It reminded me what an adventure it can be when you just let love flow.”
