On Saturday, February 7, 2026, nine volunteers from the Orlando Sai Group came together in the spirit of love and service to participate in a meaningful community initiative with Miles to Go Charities. The event focused on packing toiletry bags for needy individuals in the Orlando, FL. With homelessness on the rise in the Orlando area, local organizations have been working tirelessly to support vulnerable individuals. This collaborative effort was one small but impactful step towards addressing a growing need.

The toiletry bags were thoughtfully prepared to include (i) essentials – T-shirts, socks, and rain ponchos; (ii) hygiene items - hand sanitizers, toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo; (iii) sustenance - water bottles and snack bars; and (iv) inspirational cards to offer comfort and hope.  Each item was packed with the intention of providing not only practical support but also dignity, comfort, and encouragement to those receiving them.

Miles to Go Charities is an inspiring nonprofit organization founded in 2018 by a local nine-year-old boy. Moved by the sight of a homeless man, he asked his mother to give the man a bag of food. That simple act of compassion sparked a larger mission, eventually leading to the creation of the charity. What began as a child’s heartfelt response to human need has grown into an organization dedicated to serving the homeless community with compassion and care.

The event was a celebration of nearly a decade of the Miles to Go Charity. Beyond the packing stations, the community enjoyed local food trucks and refreshments, games and music hosted by local vendors, and a shared sense of purpose that turned a service project into a festive and vibrant community celebration.

For the Orlando Sai Group, service is a spiritual practice rooted in unity. Working with the broader community reinforced the belief that meaningful change begins with a single, sincere act. The day served as a powerful reminder that compassion knows no age, and as long as there are neighbors in need, there are always "miles to go" in our journey of selfless service.
