51st Annual Memorial Day Weekend Retreat, Mid-Atlantic Region
For the 51st year, devotees from the SSSIO-USA Mid-Atlantic Region gathered in Poyntelle, PA, for their Annual Memorial Day Weekend Retreat (May 22-24). Exploring the theme "Be the Light, Share the Light," the event featured inspiring speakers Dr. Sanjay Mahalingam and Ms. Aparna Murali, informative workshops, bhajans, and entertaining cultural programs. When a thunderstorm caused a major power outage, attendees literally embodied the theme using phone lights. Despite the challenges, participants were deeply moved by the experience, especially by divine manifestations of vibhuti.
Exploring the Meaning of Easter, Seattle, WA
The SSE children of the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Seattle Eastside, WA, presented an informative program on the spiritual significance of Easter. They explained beautifully the auspicious days for Christians such as Lent and each important day of the Holy Week, ending in Easter, which celebrates the triumph of life over death, with the cross representing overcoming the ego. The event concluded with a fun Easter egg hunt and cupcake decoration, engaging the children in both an informative and joyful session that deeply imprinted in them the true significance of Easter.
Healing Hats for Cancer Patients, Boulder, CO
On Holy Saturday, nearly 30 volunteers from the Sri Sathya Sai Centers of Boulder and Southeast Denver gathered for the "Looming with Love" project. Partnering with the nonprofit Passing Hats, volunteers of all ages lovingly and collaboratively wove soft yarn hats to provide comfort and warmth to cancer patients undergoing infusion therapy. Through shared stories, joyful participation, selfless service in unison, volunteers experienced the healing power of giving and the joy of living Sai’s message that “Hands that serve are holier than lips that pray”.
Ancient Wisdom for a Modern World, Riverside, CA
On March 22, 2026, Sai Prema Nilayam in Riverside, CA, hosted a public outreach event, "Ancient Wisdom for a Modern World” for the Riverside Interfaith Council. Around 25 guests attended to explore Sri Sathya Sai teachings and the SSSIO mission. Through presentations on education, service, and devotion, a beautiful musical offering, and an open Q&A session, the SSSIO USA-Southern California shared a day of deep connection and dialogue. The event concluded with fellowship and refreshments, leaving everyone inspired by the timeless message "Love All, Serve All."
