Christmas Walk For Values, Germantown, TN
Love as thought is Truth, Love as action is Righteousness, Love as feeling is Peace, Love as understanding is Non-violence.
Sathya Sai Baba
Every year, the City of Germantown organizes a holiday parade in December. In 2016 the Sathya Sai Baba Center of Memphis,TN, participated in the parade with a "Walk for Values" contingent. The Walk for Values is a community program designed to encourage the practice of human values in one’s daily life and the promotion of individual and collective responsibility for the progress of society. Sai Center members were thrilled to participate in the parade and walked approximately 1.2 miles with banners and signs that displayed the five human values Peace, Right Conduct, Love, Non-Violence and Truth and inspirational slogans such as “Help ever, Hurt Never”, “Love All, Serve All”, “Be the Change You Want to See.”
What made this a truly special community event, was members of the Rotary Club of Germantown joined the SSIO members in the Walk for Values. During the parade, the Walk for Values contingent received appreciative applause and supportive comments from spectators along the route, many of whom took photos of the signs. The parade was truly a wonderful way to spread and raise public awareness of Baba’s message of Love and Service.
