Practice English and Rebuild Lives: Seattle, WA

SSSIO members of Seattle, WA, partnered with Volunteers of America to launch PEARL, a program to teach Ukrainian refugees conversational English. Volunteers provided 240 virtual classes on speaking English in everyday scenarios like grocery shopping and banking. By providing a supportive environment, they empowered students to overcome communication barriers, fostered confidence, connection, and hope for their new lives.

Building Beds, Building Bonds: Young Adults, Northern California

Two young adults from SSSIO-USA Northern California Region joined Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) to build and deliver beds for children in need, each experiencing service in a deeply personal way. One volunteer found joy in the craftsmanship of the bed building workshop, staying late to help the core team and connecting with others who shared the spirit of service. The second volunteer participated in both building and delivering beds, witnessing firsthand the dignity, gratitude, and joy of families receiving them.

Greenhalge Elementary School Free Eye Clinic: Lowell, MA

The Love All Serve All (LASA) Foundation and Sri Sathya Sai Centers of Greater Boston held a free eye clinic on March 7, 2026, at Greenhalge Elementary School in Lowell, MA, to provide comprehensive eye exams and free prescription glasses to mainly students from immigrant, uninsured families. A 30-volunteer team ensured smooth operations through the clinic, which was warmly received by the school and families.

Sai Kitchen Seva: Milwaukee, WI

Sai Kitchen Seva, organized by the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Milwaukee, WI transforms cooking into a spiritual act of service inspired by Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teaching, “Service to Man is Service to God.” Volunteers of all ages gather quarterly to prepare and serve meals with devotion at the Guest House of Milwaukee. This hands-on effort fosters unity and compassion while feeding 75–100 guests each session in a manner that honors their dignity. Beyond nourishment, it creates meaningful human connections and personal transformation for volunteers.

Bay Creek Park Tree Planting: Atlanta, GA

On March 14, 2026, more than 20 Sai volunteers rejuvenated Bay Creek Park in Gwinnett County, Northeast Atlanta, GA. The intergenerational team cleared invasive species and planted Bald Cypress saplings, demonstrating seamless teamwork and disciplined hard labor. Park officials praised Sai volunteers’ dedication to environmental service. SSE students felt a unique connection to the environment… “we were not just serving people but serving Nature.”
