Harvesting to Combat Food Insecurity, Northborough, MA
Members of the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Northborough, MA, volunteered at the Grafton farm owned by Community Harvest Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating food insecurity. The organization provides over a million servings of produce annually to households in need through a network of food banks. During their summer visits, Sai volunteers harvested a variety of produce, weeded and removed invasive plants, and built plant supports. For the volunteers, working with the land was a grounding experience that showed how meaningful service can grow from humble collective action.
Riverfront Cleanup in St. Louis, MO
The Sri Sathya Sai Center of St. Louis, MO, participated in two riverfront cleanups during the summer of 2025. Members volunteered in the Riverfront Cleanup Project at the Mississippi River and the 58th Operation Clean Stream project at Lower Meramec Park. Volunteers reflect on the shift in consciousness about the importance of environmental stewardship and the profound connection between man and nature.
A Day of Prayer, St. Louis, MO
The Greater St. Louis Scouting Council held the National Day of Prayer and Sacred Text Readings, bringing together youth from various faiths in a unified spirit to share passages from their sacred texts and pray for world peace. Sai Spiritual Education students from St. Louis, MO, joined in the uplifting event by performing a song on peace and sharing Sai teachings on finding peace from within.
Founders Day Festival, Detroit Metro, MI
For the sixth year, the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Detroit Metro, MI participated in Farmington’s Founders Day Festival, a celebration of community, unity and diversity. Members of the Sai Center served as messengers of Sai’s timeless teachings by marching in the Parade and carrying signs displaying human values. This year, SSE students and teachers also sponsored a booth to enlighten the festival goers about Sai human values.
Free Health Fair, Dallas, TX
On July 26, 2025, the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Dallas, TX, launched its first free health fair in Plano, TX, providing free healthcare services to local underserved families. A team of over 30 healthcare professionals, assisted by 60 nonmedical volunteers, conducted vital screenings in vision, dental, and primary care. The event also offered health education on topics like nutrition, stroke awareness and breast health with Spanish translators present to assist. Attendees also received complimentary nutritious lunch, healthcare referrals, hygiene kits, and school supplies. The health fair exemplified SSSIO's mission of selfless service, bringing the "Love All, Serve All" motto to life.
1st Annual Peace Walk, Central San Jose, CA
Members of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Center of Central San Jose (SSBCSJ), CA, participated in the 1st Annual Peace Walk on Mar 23, 2025, hosted by the Center for Spiritual Living (CSL) at Branhall Park. The walk involved several peace-themed activities such as giving out "peace rocks”. SSBCSJ members carried banners with Sai quotes and sang devotional songs that deeply moved attendees. The event beautifully embodied unity, love and the spirit of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings.
Food drive by SSE students, Beaverton, OR
SSE students from the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Beaverton, OR, organized a food drive from April to May 2025 in partnership with Sunshine Division, a community program of the Portland Police Bureau that supports food-insecure families. With the generous support of their Sai community, the students collected critical food supplies for families in need while learning compassion, empathy and putting love in action.
