On March 23, 2025, members of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Center of Central San Jose (SSBCSJ) participated in the 1st Annual Peace Walk hosted by the Center for Spiritual Living (CSL) at Branhall Park, San Jose. SSBCSJ currently holds its Sunday devotional services, Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) classes, and other center activities at the CSL’s facility.

This interfaith event was organized by CSL, in partnership with the Association for Global New Thought (AGNT), to mark the 28th anniversary of the Season for Nonviolence—a worldwide grassroots campaign inspired by the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Season for Nonviolence, observed annually from January 30th to April 4th, encourages individuals and communities to take a conscious stand for peace and nonviolence.

The Peace Walk brought together people from diverse faiths and generations to share uplifting messages of peace. Along the route, participants distributed hand-painted “peace rocks” as symbols of planting and spreading peace in the world around us. It was a beautiful opportunity for Sai Center members to participate in an inclusive event grounded in unity, compassion and nonviolence—emphasizing the principle of being “for something, and against nothing.”

SSBCSJ members proudly carried banners featuring inspirational quotes by Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

One participant recounted a touching moment:

“Two CSL members were moved to tears when they heard the heartfelt song sung by our center members, "May the love we're sharing spread its wings" which included uplifting lyrics. They could not help but joyfully dance along as we walked together. Many CSL attendees expressed genuine interest in joining our devotional service. It truly felt as if Sri Sathya Sai Baba heard our prayers for an opportunity to engage in a community outreach activity and immediately responded.”

Another member reflected:

“Events like this offer a unique way to experience Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s universal message through cultural and spiritual diversity. Everyone there was a gentle soul, united in the spirit of peace. We are deeply grateful to Sri Sathya Sai Baba for this blessing—it’s a natural, heartfelt way to share His love while also promoting personal well-being and reflection.”

The Peace Walk was warmly embraced by all involved, giving SSBCSJ a meaningful opportunity to connect with another faith community and share Sri Sathya Sai Baba's message of love, peace, and unity.
